About green living
The world is our home.
We should care about our home now to make future life of our offsprings full of light. What can our planet turn into? Will it turn into an eternal junkyard with poisonous atmosphere and uninhabitable climate? No, we are humans and we can’t allow it to happen. That is why ideas of green living are becoming urgent in our society. What is green living? First of all, it is our harmony with nature. It means if a man takes anything for his own purposes, he has to return it to our planet in the future. The main principles of green living should help our planet and protect the Earth and us from further dying out.
Main principles of green living - Renewable resource
What resources can we call renewable? It is a question to be discussed. A majority of the renewable resource can appear to be non-renewable. And those resources which were considered to be non-renewable can become renewable with the development of science. Today we define the following renewable resource: drinking water, foodstuff of animal and plant origin, biomass, wood and leather. Renewable resource also include sun and wind energy, geothermal, hydraulic energy (energy of current, wave, flow).

Recycling is processing of trash in order to turn it into some useful things. Earth population produces an enormous amount of wastes every day. According to the statistic data it is about 7 million tons per day! There are many ways of recycling the stuff that has already been in usage. Here you can see categories of wastes which are suitable for recycling.
- Biological wastes. This type includes food wastes, fats and cesspool wastes.
- Waste paper. Everything that is connected with cellulose: paper, cardboard, newspapers, Tetra Pack wrapping. Textiles are also referred to this type.
- Glass. All types of empties and breakage of glass.
- Scrap metal. Metals for recycling are divided into three groups: ferrous, nonferrous, and precious.
- Plastic. Different types of plastic are possible to be recycled. They are divided into seven subdivisions: PET (E), PEHD (HDPE), PVC, PELD (LDPE), PP, PS and others. However, not all types of plastic can be recycled.
- Rubber. Tires and rubber are also recyclable materials.
- Electronic devices. Your house is stuffed with electronic devices you are not going to use anymore. All this stuff can get a new life. Almost all packages, details, boards, batteries, mercury lamps, and wires are suitable for recycling.
To help the program of recycling the authorities often place garbage cans for certain types of wastes in the cities. Sorting garbage before throwing it away is a right way of doing it, because it helps our planet to clear itself faster.
Energy conservation technologies are applied in many spheres of industry. They are parts of government programs. There are special test authorities, which watch over the applying of energy conservation technologies in different spheres of production.
We use energy conservation equipment at home as well. Energy conservation lamp is the most widespread way of saving energy. New electric household appliances are made according to the rules of energy conservation. Saving of heating energy has become possible due to recent technologies applied in building and warmth keeping. However, a lot depends on how a man uses the energy. That is why you should use energy resource reasonably and in purpose.
Apart from energy conservation, alternative energy can be used for energy production. These are the sun, wind, currents in seas, rivers and oceans, difference between temperatures of underground water and ground. Combining of different types of the alternative energy can supply us with 100% of energy we might need.
What is green house? It is the house where all listed principles are applied during its construction and maintenance. Nowadays there are plenty of houses, towns and cities where the principles of green building are used partially or completely. Renewable and energy conservational materials are used in building, or the materials which were recycled. There are also systems which help you to control the consumption of electricity in your house. These are implementation of luminance and movement sensors. Whether you are at home or not, your heating and cooling devices will be automatically adjusted according to each situation. Usage of autonomous solar batteries and wind generators for producing electricity and water heating has become widespread as well.
Of course these are quite expensive technologies. They need significant expenses, but sometimes being simply economical and responsible in everyday life leads to significant results. Think about it and look how often light is switched on and water is running without any purpose in your house.
Our children will be those to take care of our planet after us, and it is essential to bring up children with the principles of green living. Show them that they have to use resources reasonably. Our own example is obviously the most convincing.
